What if Quicken asks me how I want to record a Downloaded Shares/Downloaded Shares Removed transaction?

Select the method you want to use:

Shares Added transaction adds shares to this account without subtracting the cost of the shares from the account's cash balance. This action increases the market value of your account but does not change your cash balance. If your broker provides cost basis information for these shares (purchase date and price, adjusted for splits, reinvested dividends, and so on), you can enter it here. Otherwise, enter zero for the share price.
Shares transferred from another account transfers shares from another Quicken investment account. This action increases the market value of your account but does not change your cash balance. Your cost basis information is maintained.
Stock split transaction should be used in any instance where a stock split has occurred (don't use this method for the addition of new shares through purchase or transfer).

If you're submitting stock certificates, use the Shares Added transaction method.

Do not use the Shares Added transaction method to enter a simple shares adjustment. Use the Adjust Share Balance dialog.
